NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank on Monday introduced Verified by Visa (VbV)
facility for its debit cardholders to make online shopping safer."The
launch of VbV in association with Visa is another option offered to our
debit cardholders to take full advantage of the convenience offered by
online shopping in a secured manner," HDFC Bank Retail Liabilities Head
Chitra Pandeya said in a release today.With the exponential growth in
the online shopping, a facility like these will increase the percentage
of online spends and even possibly help overtake offline spends in a few
years, she saidIt is the first bank to offer this facility, which
provides the cardholders a password to protect their online
transactions.
